Through his paintings, an art movement arose that left us
some of the most beautiful landscapes in history-Impressionism. Claude
Monet (1840 - 1926) loved to paint outdoors. Like no other, Monet had
the ability to capture the magic of the moment and to fix it on canvas forever:
sunbeams playing on the gleaming surface of water, light and shadow in the
foliage of trees, or the radiant colours of a summer garden.
